Automation Taipei 2024 Opens on August 21!

The annual event for industrial automation Automation Taipei will be opening tomorrow! Focus this year is on the hottest topic of today--AI. Through a series of forums and discussion panels, industry experts and attendees will explore new developments and innovations that AI brings to smart manufacturing. As AI becomes more advanced and accessible, businesses are looking to go beyond traditional automation and achieve intelligent automation. Over 1,200 exhibitors will be at Automation Taipei 2024, showcasing smart machinery, smart equipment, and smart systems that help businesses optimize factory operations and save time, labor, and money!

One of the most important elements in AI is data. The first step to effectively utilizing AI in manufacturing is collecting data from the production line, yet it poses a great challenge to a large number of businesses: many equipment on the factory floor do not have communication or networking capabilities. For such equipment, the only way to collect data is to copy them by hand, which is laborious, time-consuming, and carries risks of mistakes.

Accordance will be showcasing two data collection solutions to assist businesses as they implement smart manufacturing in the AI era: the ASI-RPA, for PC-base equipment, and PLC PLUS, for PLC-base equipment. These solutions automate data collection from machines with no communication or networking capabilities and data upload to management systems.

In addition to collecting data, the ASI-RPA can also automate regular or repetitive operations. Users can set scripts to control the keyboard and mouse and perform different processes, enabling faster response to situations on-site and reducing human error. For equipment using PLC, Accordance's PLC PLUS solution can replicate the HMI on a computer, enabling remote monitoring and control and data collection with one solution.

Last but not least, Accordance's centralized monitoring platform RCVM brings on-site visuals including equipment displays and camera streams to remote control centers, offices, and even mobile devices. The multi-view interface makes it easy to monitor multiple equipment or lines simultaneously. If a situation that requires manual operation occurs, users can remotely operate the equipment and troubleshoot problems faster, effectively increasing uptime.

Aside from AI, Accordance will be giving a presentation on sensor fusion technology at the New Product and Technology Launch this year. Through real-world examples, our VP Anthony Yu will explain how the technology commonly used in self-driving cars can be applied in smart manufacturing.
