Material Identification, Tracking & Management

The Challenges

  • Personnel manage large amounts of part numbers, leading to high error rates and large material loss.
  • The large area of the plants makes it difficult to keep track of the numerous part numbers.
  • Difficulty in upgrading old racks makes effective tracking and management of material difficult and leads to a lack of transparency in production processes, slowing down improvement to manufacturing capacity.

The Solution

RFID (radio-frequency identification), ESL (electronic shelf labels), and SECS/GEM communication are combined to upgrade material storage racks and transport carts in Accordance’s intelligent material identification, tracking, and management solution. This solution can be expanded and integrated with in-factory AGV and task dispatch systems. The system is easy to deploy and configure, and existing shelves can be quickly retrofitted and upgraded. It allows for real-time control of material flow within the factory, improving utilization and production efficiency.

Features & Benefits

  • Utilize card sensing by personnel to record batch quantities and transport history, achieving control over transport and storage.
  • Site information is uploaded to a centralized platform for more effective management.
  • Display and query information for selected sites. Show batch numbers in real time to reduce operational errors.
  • Web interface to query and manage the location and shelving information of material.
  • Compare Tag codes and Lot IDs to monitor production progress in real time.
  • Establish production records through data handshake with MES through SECS.
